Best selling author crowned Mrs. Orlando, pledges winnings for the education of homeless children
Children that fall victim to homelessness don't share in the same educational opportunities others do
Orlando, FL November 7, 2007: Ashly Kohly-Darroch was recently crowned Mrs. Orlando and competes for the Mrs. Florida Scholarship pageant title on November 17 which, she has pledged her winnings to the coalition for the homeless. Ashly says, on a personal level her platform is homelessness, the children who fall victim to homelessness through no fault of their own, don't seem to share in the same educational opportunities that others do. I think it's important that one of these children get the scholarship monies that I am competing for. In doing this, it will raise the visibility of how many kids actually reside at the coalition. This initiative will help to implement programs that give all children equal footing in the educational system.
Ashly Kohly is best selling author of "101 Ways To Add Joy To Your Life" and "101 Ways To Cherish A Woman" and was voted in the top five of Florida authors. Ashly nationwide book tour started this year and not only does she personally donate 100% of book signing proceeds, but also two dollars of the first one million copies of her books sold on www.Amazon.com goes to the coalition for the homeless in down town Orlando as well.
The Mrs. Florida scholarship pageant is much different than all other pageants. Beyond looks and talent, the Mrs. Florida pageant contestants delivers beautiful accomplished women who have high community involvement. The winner of Mrs. Florida Scholarship has the opportunity win scholarship monies to use or to gift. Under the direction of its dynamic founder, Linnea Maloney, T.L.C. Entertainment II, Inc. will host the first ever Mrs. Florida Scholarship Pageant at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on November 17, 2007 at 3pm www.floridascholarship.com
