Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his number one hit single "Band of Gold," the book chronicles his incredible rise to heights in the entertainment and sports worlds most people only dream about. From palling around with the likes of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Demaret, Bing Crosby, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Mickey Mantle, and a host of other A-list celebrities to singing in front of (and playing golf with) U.S. Presidents, Cherry's charmed life story is told for the first time with the help of coauthor Neil Daniels.
Not that it was all a bed of roses, because no life ever is, Cherry will also describe the dark days he spent lying in a coma and the tragic loss of his son in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
